Ecosystem-based Adaptation in Mountain Ecosystem

“Ecosystem based Adaptation [EbA] in Mountain Ecosystem is a global project whose main objective is to assist countries to manage ecosystems, with focus on reducing the vulnerability of communities to the impact of climate change through the promotion of EbA options.”

The project was implemented in the Panchase region of Nepal, where donors and partners teamed up with local communities to use EbA methods to manage ecosystems and ecosystem services. One of the main aims was to reduce the vulnerability of communities to the impact of climate change through nature-based solutions. 

Implementing Partners: GoN MoFE, IUCN, UNEP, UNDP and supported by Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature, Conservation and Nuclear Safety 

Donors:  Government of Germany Federal Ministry for the Environment; Nature Conservation; and Nuclear Safety and Building (BMUB)

Partners: Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC) through Department of Forests; Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MoSTE); United Nations Development Program (UNDP); and United Nations Environment Program.
